ten short stories...

Dominoes is a collection that I had to write. Not just because the characters and their stories were already in my head, fighting to break out, but also because I lived around, grew up with and was friend or enemy to every single one of them. From Johnny Too Lie to Jazz and Dee, via Reese, Tara and Dal, it was the characters that made me write it.
The stories are as real as I could make them, in terms of setting, language and events. I wanted to write about the everyday teenagers that I knew as a youth. Wanted to reflect their lives; inner city or suburban. Rough, sometimes deadly but always full of great humour and always direct.
Street-gang warfare, clubbing, family loyalty, friendships and feuds all collide in these ten interlinked stories. From the relentless tension of the title story, to the tragic fantasy world of Johnny Too Lie, and the fun and mayhem of Carnival Night.
Sad, funny, angry, real... That's what this collection is. And it is, in my own opinion, one of the best projects I have written, perfect for those of you who ain't quite ready to read a full novel.
Enjoy it...
